Biography 1966
On invitation to the XXXIII Biennale Internazionale di Venezia exhibition, he wins the highly prestigious Premio Officiale earmarked for an Italian graphic designer. He exhibits his Logogrifi, from the Greek logos speech and grifo fishing-net, in other words, manipulated ready-mades, puzzles, words taken apart and put back together to form other, potentially more infinitive words, obtained by using the technique of embossing on blotting paper, white on white. Abstract work but also theme sheets which distinguish most of Gribaudos production between the Sixties and the beginning of the Seventies. Similar works are also presented in Turin, at the Polytechnic Institutes Faculty of Architecture in Turin. During the exhibition, the Quaderno del Politecnico I flani is published by Enrico Pellegrini. In the autumn, personal exhibitions are held at the Naviglio Gallery in Milan (the catalogue introduced by Pierre Restany describing Gribauda as a nouveau réaliste) and at the Wittenborn One Wall Gallery in New York. At both exhibitions, he exclusively presents Flani e Logogrifi on paper.
