Biography 1998

In February, his work inaugurates the “Saletta d’Arte Vianzone” in Turin with 20 works of the Omaggio a Botero series. The exhibition “Logogrifi 1966-1988”, held at the “Galleria Zonca & Zonca” in Milan, is introduced by Annalisa Cima. He takes part in the joint exhibition “14 Artisti del gruppo Art Autre” held at the “Fondazione Over Studio” in Turin and the “Dipinti di piccolo formato” exhibition at the “Saletta d’arte Vianzone” in Turin. In October, at the Buenos Aires “Centro Cultural Recoleta”, he exhibits “Metalogrifos 1960-1998”. This is the very first of his exhibitions in Argentina and the catalogue is introduced by Vanni Scheiwiller with these words: “To me, Gribaudo represents Italian non-figurative painting in the Sixties after his exhibitions at the historic galleries of “La Bussola” in Turin, the “Cavallino” in Venice and Carlo Cardazzo’s “Naviglio” in Milan, but mainly the “Arturo Schwarz” Gallery, where he exibited his first metallogrifi. After practically thirty years, what convinced me then and I reconfirm today, is the excellence and elegance of his logogrifi”. The exhibition was subsequently hosted (May-June 1999) at the “Centro Cultural Auditorium” in Mar del Plata, then in Cordoba at the “Cabildo Histórico” and finally at the “Museo Municipal de Artes Visuales” in Rosario de Santa Fé, sponsored by the Buenos Aires “Istituto Italiano di Cultura” as well as the Italian Consolate.
