Biography 1973

At an exhibition held at the “Galleria Ferrari Grafica” in Verona, he exhibits the Machupicchu and Giappone graphic series, both created two years beforehand, including various logogrifi from the “Totem” and “Ecologica” series, produced between 1971 and 1972. However, that year the most significant exhibitions are held in Ferrara at the “Palazzo dei Diamanti (for the occasion, a fully comprehensive catalogue is published, with texts by Franco Farina and Janus). 42 of Gribaudo’s works are exhibited, from the 1965 Flani to the 1965-73 Logogrifi and 1970-71 Saccogrifi, including various graphic works. His work is also exhibited at the “Museo d’Arte Assis Chateaubriand” in São Paulo, Brazil. The catalogue is introduced by art critic Mario Bardi and includes a poem by Hans Richter. 49 of Gribaudo’s works are presented, especially the Logogrifi produced between 1968 and 1978, including other graphic work. This last exhibition is a travelling exhibition and, after São Paulo, moves on to the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro. At the “Davico” Gallery in Turin, he exhibits “Egitto”: collages, oil paints, pyramids, sands and mixed techniques inspired by a recent journey along the banks of the Nile. The catalogue’s introduction is by the egyptologist Silvio Curto. He takes part in the “X Quadriennale Nazionale d’Arte” exhibition in Rome called “Situazione dell’Arte non figurativa”. He wins the First Prize at the “X Mostra Nazionale di Pittura Contemporanea”, in Santhià (Vercelli). He moreover takes part in the “Premio Internazionale Biella per l’Incisione” for the second time (in Biella).
