Biography 1997

At the “Galerie Bac-Saint Germain, again in Paris, he exhibits more recent works, during a personal exhibition organised by Xavier de Coulange. At the “Palazzo Lomellini” in Carmagnola (Turin), he exhibits “Deserti-miti e memorie di viaggio”, in which the lead actors are Egypt, the Holy Land and Petra, the pyramids and boundless deserts, works suggestively rendered in their mix of paper, flani, jute and collages. Gribaudo donates the Dinosauro sculpture to the Carmagnola Municipality. The theme of the exhibition called “Da Conzano all’Australia – cent’anni di memorie”, is held in the Monferrato hills at Conzano (a town in twinship with the Australian town of Ingham). On this occasion, the artist donates a sculpture representing a kangaroo, measuring 2.10 x 1.80cm., in polystyrene and resin, placed in Conzano’s main square, Piazza Australia. Always in Piedmont, but in the Cuneo area this time, the Garessio Municipality renders homage to Gribaudo with an exhibition simultaneously held at a number of locations. In December, he exhibits circa twenty works at the “Circolo di Lettura” in Tortona and 14 paintings, always from the Holy Land series, at the “Galleria Astrolabio” in Messina. This technique of Gribaudo’s in superimposing, integrating by chromatic intervention, in its turn framed by flani, distinguished the series of collages “Omaggio a Botero”, exhibited at the “Galleria Peira” in Bra. He receives honorary citizenship from the Mayor of the Moncalieri Municipality, Architect Carlo Novarino.
