Pane e Uva è organizzato da Jesper List Thomsen nell’ambito della sua residenza di ricerca presso l’Archivio Gribaudo. Pane e Uva è un’occasione per riunirsi attorno alle straordinarie attività editoriali di Ezio Gribaudo, in particolare alla sua ultima collaborazione con l’artista danese Asger Jorn, JORN / LE JARDIN D’ALBISOLA, un libro su cui Gribaudo e Jorn lavorarono all’inizio degli anni Settanta. Il libro documenta il giardino e la casa di Jorn ad Albisola e, allo stesso tempo, testimonia lo spirito collaborativo che è sempre stato al centro delle pubblicazioni di Gribaudo.

 
Recentemente, agli inizi di novembre di quest’anno, Jesper List Thomsen ha visitato la casa di Jorn in Liguria, e i suoi due figli hanno riempito con entusiasmo gli zaini con l’uva molto matura che ornava il giardino. Jorn usava produrre vino rosso con queste viti. Gribaudo amava il pane come medium e lo impiegava sia nel suo lavoro editoriale sia in quello artistico. In questa occasione di Pane e Uva, Jesper List Thomsen collaborerà con l’artista Emil Kerchhove per offrirvi un pane con l’uva riportata a Torino negli zaini, dopo un incontro esaltante.
 
Venite a prenderne un pezzo, per assaggiarlo, mentre le lettere tra Jorn e Gribaudo vengono lette ad alta voce, insieme a estratti dal libro che ormai ha cinquantuno anni, stampato il 12 dicembre 1974.
 
Jesper List Thomsen è un artista con base a Londra e Torino. Lavora con il testo, la pittura, la scultura e la performance. Mostre e performance recenti hanno avuto luogo presso: Teatro Grottesco, Torino; Paint it Black, Torino; Hot Wheels, Londra; Grazerkunstverein, Graz; O—Overgaden, Copenaghen; MACRO, Roma; Kölnischer Kunstverein, Colonia; West Den Haag, L’Aia; Braunsfelder, Colonia; Fanta-MLN, Milano; Radio Athènes, Atene; Parrhesiades, Londra; ICA, Londra; Künstlerhaus Stuttgart; Bureau des Réalités, Bruxelles. BASE BASE, una raccolta estesa dei suoi scritti, è stata pubblicata da Juan de la Cosa, Città del Messico/Londra nel 2018, e il suo libro FREEEee è stato pubblicato da L’Esprit de l’Escalier, Londra/Helsinki nel 2021.

Pane e Uva is organised by Jesper List Thomsen as part of his research residency at the Archivio Gribaudo. Pane e Uva is an occasion to gather around Ezio Gribaudo’s extraordinary publishing activities, more specifically his last collaboration with the Danish artist Asger Jorn, JORN / LE JARDIN D’ALBISOLA, a book Gribaudo and Jorn worked on in the early 1970s. The book documents Jorn’s garden and house in Albisola, equally, it documents the collaborative sentiment that was always at the heart of a publication by Gribaudo.
 
Recently, in early November of this year, Jesper List Thomsen visited Jorn’s house in Liguria, his two children eagerly filled their backpacks with the very ripe grapes that ornated the garden. Jorn used to make red wine from these vines. Gribaudo loved bread as a medium and deployed it in both his publishing and artistic work. For Pane e Uva, Jesper List Thomsen will collaborate with artist Emil Kerchhove to bake a bread with the grapes brought back to Turin in backpacks, after an elating encounter.
 
Come and have a piece, to try, whilst letters between Jorn and Gribaudo are read aloud, along with excerpts from the book that is now fifty-one years old, printed on 12 December 1974.
