Ogni edizione di INSERTO – il programma curatoriale dell’Archivio Gribaudo, inaugurato nel 2024 – è un invito a esplorare, insieme ad artisti, poeti, curatori, graphic designer e scrittori, un frammento del vasto universo di Ezio Gribaudo (1929-2022): un aspetto della sua opera, una rivelazione d’atelier, un segreto d’archivio.

Per questa nuova edizione, Anne Bourse (1982) e Benjamin Seror (1979) propongono una fiction di forme e canzoni, prolungando lo spirito d’invenzione che emana dallo studio di Ezio Gribaudo. Compulsiva e ossessiva, la pratica del disegno in Ezio Gribaudo e Anne Bourse sembra condividere una certa affinità nonostante le rispettive singolarità: nei volti e negli ornamenti delle loro forme, nella scelta dei soggetti, spesso ispirati a immagini e oggetti quotidiani, e nelle loro tecniche (penna a sfera, matita, pennarello o inchiostro) e nelle loro palette di colori aciduli.

Tra disco e house malinconica, si inventa una lingua.
 È stata la musica a plasmare per prima i loro gesti. Anne Bourse e Benjamin Seror sono compagni di lunga data, i primi testimoni e pubblico di ciò che ciascuno stava creando durante i ferventi anni sperimentali. Anne cantava e registrava senza alcuna formazione musicale, armeggiando sul suo registratore a quattro piste, sospesa tra fragilità e sincerità, creando repertori intrisi di malinconia ironica – “Cinque cover per dirti che quando ti vedo mi sento un re” – mentre Benjamin lanciava Drame orage, un label di tenerezza tempestosa, preludio alla sua fede nel potere liberatorio del sentimento e del suono.

Each edition of INSERTO, the curatorial program of the Archivio Gribaudo inaugurated in 2024, invites artists, poets, curators, graphic designers, and writers to explore a fragment of Ezio Gribaudo’s (1929-2022) vast universe: an aspect of his work, a revelation from the studio, a secret from the archives.

For this new edition, Anne Bourse (1982) and Benjamin Seror (1979) offer a fiction of forms and songs, extending the inventive spirit that emanates from Ezio Gribaudo’s studio.

Compulsive and obsessive, the practice of drawing in both Ezio Gribaudo and Anne Bourse’s works seem to share a certain affinity despite their respective singularities: in the whorls and ornamentation of their forms, in the choice of subjects often inspired by everyday images and objects, and in their techniques — ballpoint pen, pencil, felt-tip, or ink — and in their tangy color palettes.

Between disco and melancholic house, a language is emerging. It was music that first shaped their gestures. Anne Bourse and Benjamin Seror are long-time companions, the first witnesses and audience to what each was crafting during the fervent, experimental early years. Anne sang without formal musical training, tinkering on her four-track recorder, suspended between failure and sincerity, creating repertoires tinged with ironic melancholy: “Five covers to tell you that when I see you, I feel like a king”. Meanwhile Benjamin launched Drame orage, a label of stormy tenderness, a prelude to his faith in the liberating power of sentiment and sound.
